First International Teams For Rás 22 Announced
Frazier Carr, Spirit Racing Team
Returning to An Rás Tailteann, the Netherlands will be represented this time by the Wielervereniing (WV) West- Frisa Team.

Managed by former top Dutch rider Tino Haaknaan, no stranger to racing in Ireland during his own career. He brings a team that is sure to make a big contribution to the 2022 edition.

Dutch-representation in An Rás has always added to the excitement of the race as evidenced in the 2018 edition when the race for final honours went town to the wire on the last stage. That year Dutch rider Luuc Bugter of the Netherlands Delta Cycling Rotterdam team took the final yellow jersey in one of the most dramatic finishes ever. Winning by the narrowest margin possible, a single second, from Cyrille Thiery of Switzerland following the final stage into Skerries. We can be sure that this team will be doing its utmost to replicate their compatriots’ success again this June. More>>>

Rás Tailteann 2022 Route Details
Overall Route Rás Tailteann 2022

Continuing with its commitment to provide more communications about the 2022 event. Cáirde Rás Tailteann has some more detailed news regarding the 2022 route.

During the last weeks an intensive review of the physical route was carried out. The route stage ends will all stay the same as the previously published route for 2020/21, but there is one significant change relating to stage 3.
Instead of starting from Castleisland in County Kerry. The race will now transfer to Newcastle West and begin stage 3 from there, still finishing in Lisdoonvarna.

This change has been decided upon in the interest of avoiding traversing Limerick City and instead follows a route east and north around the city. This will have the effect of making for a more interesting and challenging stage as the riders’ approach Lisdoonvarna for what is sure to be another exciting finale and longest stage of the 2022 event.

Keith Butler Surrey League 1938-2019
Keith Butler 1964
THE exploits of south London's Butler family have loomed large in the pages of Cycling Weekly for over 65 years. It all began with Stan Butler, the Olympian and time trial champion. He was followed by son Keith who won two national road race titles.
Today, the Butler family tradition is carried on by Gethin Butler, the road and time trial star.

Although Keith Butler retired from the sport some 30 years ago, he is still an influential figure, serving on the British Cycling Federation's National Board and organising the Surrey League - which makes him Britain's most prolific promoter of road races.
