Dunboyne, Co. Meath Will Host The Stage Five Finish of Rás Tailteann 2026
The 71 st edition of Rás Tailteann will take place from May 20th to May 24th, 2026.

Following a depart from Carlow, the riders will arrive into Dunboyne where they will complete three laps of a finishing circuit before the final stage winner and overall champion of the 2026 Rás Tailteann are crowned. More>>>

Cairde Ras Tailteann is delighted to confirm that stage four of the 2026 Rás Tailteann will finish in Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow on Saturday, May 23rd, as the race returns to the Wicklow Mountains for the first time in eight years.
Bringing one of the race's most important days to a close in the town, the stage is set to be a major moment in the final weekend of the 71st edition of Ireland's most historic and prestigious stage race. More>>>

The 2026 event will see riders depart from Carlow Town on consecutive days, with stage four travelling to Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow on Saturday, May 23rd before the final stage heads from Carlow to Dunboyne, Co. Meath on Sunday, May 24th.

Speaking at the official launch, Clir Ken Murnane, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, highlighted the significant economic and promotional benefits the race is expected to bring to the county. With teams, officials, media, sponsors and supporters all based locally across the weekend, it is estimated that the event will deliver an econohe 71 st edition of Rás Tailteann will take place from May 20th to May 24th, 2026.

Having started in Mitchelstown earlier in the day, the riders will take on a 155.6 kilometre route through Cork, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford before arriving into Enniscorthy for what promises to be a fast, technical and hard-fought finale. The stage features mostly flat roads on a twisting course, with two Category 3 climbs along the way. The final challenge comes in the closing kilometre, with an uphill finish into Enniscorthy that could create a dramatic conclusion to the day and prove important in the battle for the general classification. Cairde Rás Tailteann is delighted to confirm that Banteer, Co. Cork will host the finish of stage two of the 2026 Rás Tailteann on Thursday, May 21st, as Ireland's most historic and prestigious stage race returns for its 71st edition.

Stage two will begin in Rathmore, Co. Kerry and cover 192.7 kilometres before the riders race into Banteer for what promises to be a thrilling and hard-earned finish. Following the start in Kerry, the race will make its way into Cork over one of the most demanding routes of the week.

Cairde Ras Tailteann is delighted to confirm that Rathmore, Co. Kerry will host the stage two start of the 2026 Ras Tailteann on Thursday. May 21st. as Ireland's most historic and prestigious stage race continues its journey across the country.

Following the opening stage from Portlacise to Kilmallock, riders will gather in Rathmore on Thursday morning before setting out on one of the most demanding stages of the race, with a challenging route ahead to Banteer, Co. Cork.
Parking for teams and race vehicles will be based at Knocknagree GAA Club, with the race rolling through Rathmore before assembling at Rathmore Community Centre for the ceremonial start. Covering 192.7 kilometres, the stage will
take the peloton from Kerry into Cork over a demanding route that is expected to play a key role in shaping the overall race.
