Based in Santa Cruz, California, Cyclesport Specialized arrives at Rás Tailteann backed by one of the most recognised names in cycling, bringing a distinct West Coast identity to one of Europe’s most historic stage races. The team’s participation marks its first international race and represents a significant step in its development.

The yellow jersey is awarded to the overall race leader at the end of each stage and remains the most recognisable symbol of success in the race. Having previously supported the event through sponsorship of race numbers, Kia’s move to title sponsor of the yellow jersey marks a significant expansion of their involvement.

Cairde Rás Tailteann is delighted to announce that Kilmallock, Co. Limerick will host the stage one finish of the 2026 Rás Tailteann on Wednesday, May 20th as Ireland’s most historic and prestigious stage race opens its 71st edition in thrilling fashion.

Having started in Portlaoise earlier in the day, the race will travel south through Laois and Tipperary before reaching County Limerick, where the first stage winner of the 2026 Rás Tailteann will be crowned in Kilmallock. More>>>

Irish Team Of Five Named for Rás Tailteann

Cycling Ireland is proud to name a team of five riders to represent Ireland in this year’s Rás Tailteann, taking place from May 20th-24th.

Decathlon CM CGM Devo Team rider Conor Murphy will line out in green again for the first time since taking a medal at last year’s European Road Championships. The first-year U23 rider took bronze in the TT event in France last Autumn, along with the Junior Cyclo cross, TT and Road Race National Championship titles in 2025.

Cairde Rás Tailteann is delighted to confirm that Portlaoise will host the stage one start of the 2026 Rás Tailteann on Wednesday, May 20th as Ireland’s most historic and prestigious stage race gets underway for its 71st edition.

The race will gather at Laois County Council Offices for the ceremonial start before the riders set out on the road to Kilmallock, Co. Limerick for an exciting opening day of racing. Portlaoise will provide the backdrop for the first gathering of riders, teams, officials and supporters as the 2026 event gets underway, giving locals the opportunity to be part of a special occasion in the Irish sporting calendar.

Rás Tailteann Gears Up for Another Week of World-Class Cycling

Meath County Council is proud to announce the launch of the 71st Rás Tailteann, taking place from 20–24 May.
This prestigious event will cover 785 km across five stages, featuring 21 categorised climbs, traversing Portlaoise, Kilmallock, Banteer, Enniscorthy, and Baltinglass.
The final stage will culminate in Dunboyne, where three laps of a challenging circuit will determine the stage winner and the overall champion of Rás Tailteann 2026.
