Cairde Rás Tailteann is delighted to announce the continued support of Sport Ireland, Cycling Ireland, and the Department of Sport for Rás Tailteann 2025. Funding from these key bodies has long played a vital role in the success of the event, and this year’s support is particularly significant as the race celebrates its 70th edition — a remarkable milestone in Irish sporting history.

Race Director Ger Campbell expressed his gratitude on behalf of the organisation: “We are immensely thankful for the support we’ve received this year from Sport Ireland, Cycling Ireland, and the Department of Sport. This backing allows us to continue delivering a top-class experience for both riders and fans while growing the event's stature both at home and abroad.

I would particularly like to thank Minister Patrick O'Donovan TD and Minister Charlie McConalogue TD for their current stewardship and support. We also extend our sincere thanks to former Ministers at the Department of Sport, Catherine Martin TD and Thomas Byrne TD, whose efforts in previous years were instrumental in securing funding and ensuring the race’s continuity.

In addition, I want to acknowledge James Quilligan of Cycling Ireland for his ongoing collaboration, and Una May and Paul McDermott of Sport Ireland for their continued belief in the value of Rás Tailteann as a flagship event in Irish sport.”

James Quilligan, CEO of Cycling Ireland, added:

“Cycling Ireland is proud to continue its partnership with Rás Tailteann in 2025. The Rás remains one of the most iconic and important fixtures in the Irish cycling calendar, offering a unique platform for domestic and international riders to compete. We are delighted to support such a passionate and professional organising team and thank all involved — particularly Sport Ireland and the Department of Sport — for helping make this event possible.”

As a token of appreciation, the blue county rider jersey will again feature the Sport Ireland logo, while all race jerseys will proudly display the Cycling Ireland logo. Cairde Rás Tailteann is proud to showcase these partnerships at such a prestigious international event, highlighting the shared commitment to the development of Irish cycling.
