70th edition of the Rás Tailteann will take place from May 21st to May 25th, 2025.
The event will start in the cycling stronghold of Drogheda, Co Louth on Wednesday, May 21st heading westwards to finish in Boyle, Co Roscommon. A transfer to Charlestown for the start of stage two where the riders will take on the infamous Windy Gap and Maumtrasna climbs in the longest of the 2025 Rás Tailteann stages. Another transfer to Co Mayo for the start of stage three, where Cong will welcome the Rás Tailteann. After setting off from Cong, the riders will take in breathtaking scenery along the Wild Atlantic Way before they face the fast finish towards Miltown Malbay in County Clare. The penultimate stage will kick off from Ennis, Co Clare and take on 2 x category three climbs before crossing the category one Wolftrap climb with less than 15KM remaining – will there be enough time to regroup before the finish in Mountrath, Co Laois? The final stage of Rás Tailteann 2025 will kick off in Kildare Town heading across the plains of ‘The Lilywhite County’ before entering Co Meath where again, the winner of Rás Tailteann will be crowned in Bective. The 2025 edition of the race is again five stages and will take on over 760KM along the roads of The Emerald Isle, including 13 categorised climbs.

Visiting Team 12 – Wheelbase / Cabtech / Castelli – United Kingdom
Cairde Rás Tailteann is excited to announce our 12th visiting team for the 2025 event: Wheelbase / Cabtech / Castelli from the United Kingdom. This marks the team’s third appearance at Rás Tailteann, and they return in 2025 with a strong squad, ready to challenge for stage wins and the general classification.
The team has proven their strength in recent editions of Rás Tailteann, securing multiple stage wins and green jersey victories. Building on their success, Wheelbase / Cabtech / Castelli is once again looking to make a significant impact on the Irish roads.
This year’s squad includes Mitchell McLaughlin, Tom Martin (Winner of Rás Mumhan 2025), Tom Armstrong, Tim Shoreman and Aaron King.
Team Manager Stuart Reid shared his excitement about the upcoming race:
“We are thrilled to be coming to the Rás for the third time in 2025. We’re looking to build on our multiple stage wins and green jersey wins over the past two editions of the race and challenge for the overall GC. We are coming with a strong team and can’t wait to get stuck into the 70th edition of this prestigious race.”

Visiting Team 13 – Primera – TeamJobs – United Kingdom
Cairde Rás Tailteann is pleased to announce our 13th and final visiting team for the 2025 event: Primera - TeamJobs from the United Kingdom. This marks the team's debut at Rás Tailteann, and they are eager to make their mark in this prestigious race.
Primera - TeamJobs is an established British cycling team with a strong presence in the UK racing scene. Managed by Jason Gault, the team has been active for several years, participating in various races across the United Kingdom and achieving notable results, including wins in both the 2024 and 2025 Totnes-Vire with Gabe Dellar and Luke Barfoot, respectively.
The 2025 Rás Tailteann squad includes Luke Barfoot, Josh Housley, Gabe Dellar, Matty Beecher and Matt Gilmour.
Team Manager Jason Gault shared his excitement about the team's first appearance at Rás Tailteann: “We are thrilled to be making our debut at Rás Tailteann this year. As a team with a rich history in UK racing, we are excited to bring our experience and passion to Ireland.
